Biography

Dean Radin, Ph.D., is an American parapsychologist and consciousness researcher, born around the mid-1950s, serving as Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), founded by Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell. He earned an MS in electrical engineering and a PhD in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to IONS in 2001, Radin held positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Princeton University, University of Edinburgh, and SRI International, institutions with histories in advanced research including remote viewing programs linked to government psi efforts. Author of over 125 peer-reviewed articles, dozens of book chapters, and bestsellers like 'The Conscious Universe' (1997), 'Entangled Minds' (2006), 'Supernormal' (2013), and 'Real Magic' (2018), his work employs rigorous statistical meta-analyses to validate psi phenomena such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and psychokinesis. In UAP/UFO contexts, Radin has discussed overlaps between UFO encounters, extraterrestrial contacts, and parapsychology in podcasts like 'The UFO Rabbit Hole' (2023), noting institutional avoidance to preserve credibility while suggesting psi models, akin to panpsychism, may explain alien consciousness and UAP-related anomalies. He advocates scientific exploration of these intersections without direct involvement in military UFO programs.
